A Return to Wargaming

War games have fascinated me for many years. My first aborted foray into the hobby was with AH's venerable Tactics II. That was in the 1970s. Later, in various intervals of a busy life in the 1980s, I purchased additional games, never really playing them much because I did not quite understand what I was supposed to be doing. In the 90s, my nascent interest in history blossomed as did my interest in war games. I also met a friend who was an experienced player. It gave me opportunity to play with a partner and learn more about the hobby. But, alas, the business of life, the pursuit of additional schooling, and various relocations disrupted that interesting time.

Now, after over ten years, I have returned to the hobby of wargaming with a vengeance! My original intent was to teach my oldest son the hobby but, in the process, rediscovered how much I enjoy it. Now with email and various internet gaming forums, there is a world of wargaming friends and online opponents.

I think I'm in it for the long haul this time.
